Job Summary:
The Managing Director, Education, will lead the critical services of the Education Department, overseeing both staff and volunteers. This role involves strategically maintaining and expanding Shalom Task Force's vision to reach the Jewish community with education and awareness initiatives related to healthy relationships, abuse prevention, and community support. This position will oversee and implement programs that provide education to youth, adults, communal leaders, mental health professionals, and community members. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate interested in joining a small group of innovative professionals as they work to create large-scale change in the Jewish community. He/she will contribute to an agency culture of collaboration to partner with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management: Serve as the leader of the Education Department, managing staff and volunteers to ensure the effective delivery of educational programs.
Strategic Vision: Develop and implement strategies to expand Shalom Task Force’s reach, increasing awareness and education on healthy relationships and abuse prevention.
Curriculum Development: Write and develop engaging and informative curricula tailored to diverse audiences.
Public Speaking: Individual must be comfortable and enjoy leading workshops and providing training to diverse audiences including community members, educational institutions, teens, professionals, communal leaders and other populations to promote the organization’s mission. Serve as a public face for the agency, representing Shalom Task Force at various events, speaking at events and participating in communal forums.
Partnership Building and Consultation: Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and other organizations to foster collaborative efforts in education and awareness. Will offer, as needed and is appropriate, consultation to partners to assist with case consultation and program development.
Program Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports on the department’s activities, progress, and outcomes to the executive team and board of directors.
Team Oversight: Oversee and manage the team through the completion of all related aspects of program delivery.
Required Qualifications and Skills:,
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a relevant field such as education, social work, psychology, or related field.
Applicants must hold a PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant field, demonstrating advanced expertise and a strong foundation in the core areas of education, social work, psychology, or related field.
Direct service experience, including but not limited to school guidance, teaching, clinical experience, program design and implementation, training, investigation or case consultation, and/or development of best practices and resources.
Proven history of success in the field of education, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Passion for Shalom Task Force's mission and approach.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including strong public speaking, facilitation, listening, and relationship-building skills.
Experience building and managing a client-facing team and serving as a direct supervisor, including supervisory experience of diverse teams and demonstrated ability to work with people from various backgrounds and experiences.
Experience with Jewish communal non-profit organizations and/or deep knowledge and experience working with Orthodox institutions and communities is preferred.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with nuanced understanding and demonstrate critical thinking around complex situations.
Excellent understanding of trauma-informed practices within organizational settings.
Willingness to travel 5-8 times a year.
Additional Information:
A competitive salary will be based on education and experience. The salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000 commensurate to experience.

90-Day Probation Period:
All new employees undergo a 90-day probationary period to evaluate performance and suitability for the position. During this time, the employee will receive training, resources, and guidance, with an expectation to familiarize yourself with company policies and actively contribute to our goals. At the end of the probation, a review will assess your performance and alignment with our values to determine if your employment will continue, and you will be promptly notified of the outcome.
